The Bays Port area encompasses both Glebe Island and White Bay, in Sydney's inner west. The precinct has a long history as a working port, offering a central location to support the development of Sydney's infrastructure projects.

Glebe Island in Bays Port has been a vital maritime supply route for over 100 years and has been used for importing concrete and gypsum to service Sydney’s construction supply needs since the early 1990s. The port’s berths provide a low-cost, low-impact and sustainable way to bring dry bulk materials (including sand for making concrete) into the city. Whereas White Bay has been used for water-based transport and industrial activities since the nineteenth century, in conjunction with Glebe Island. White Bay now houses the White Bay Cruise Terminal to welcome international cruise passengers to the heart of Sydney.
