Majestic Princess sails into Sydney Harbour on maiden call

The cruise ship Majestic Princess, received a warm welcome from Sydney this weekend as it sailed into the Overseas Passenger Terminal in spectacular fashion on its maiden call to the harbour.

Arriving at sunrise on a hot spring morning, Majestic Princess was flanked by a floating flare runway as it entered the harbour and headed to the cruise terminal in Circular Quay. 

Built in 2017 in Italy, the 330 meter-long, 144,216 tonne and 19-deck Majestic Princess is the newest royal-class vessel from Carnival and Princess Cruises.

Weighing in at 144,216 tonnes, the ship carries 3560 passengers catered by 1346 crew and features two restaurants run by Michelin-starred chefs, the largest outdoor movie screen at sea and a glass-floor walkway that extends 8 meters out to sea beyond the edge of the ship.

As is tradition for maiden calls, Majestic Princess’ Captain was presented with a celebratory plaque by Port Authority of New South Wales’ cruise operations team.
