    How do I apply for a role at Port Authority of New South Wales?

    The best way to apply for any of our vacancies is through the careers section of our website. This is where we list our vacancies as soon as they become available. Details of how to apply and where to send your application are detailed on each job advert.

    Do I need to be an Australian resident/citizen to work at Port Authority?

    Yes, we only accept applications from Australian residents and/or citizens.

    Do you offer visa sponsorship?

    No, we do not offer visa sponsorships except in very rare and exceptional circumstances.

    Will you let me know if I have been shortlisted?

    Once the advert has closed and all the applications have been reviewed, the shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a telephone-screening interview and a face-to-face interview.

    Will I be updated on each stage of the process?

    We will acknowledge all of the applications that come through to us. Once we have completed the short-listing we will advise each of the applicants on their progress and whether they have been successful at obtaining an interview. At the end of the process we will inform all the candidates on the outcome of their application.

    What kind of interview process can I expect?

    We use behavioural and technical-based questions during our interview processes. In some instances, you will be required to complete a practical assessment, medical assessment and/or psychometric assessment.

    What kind of things do you look for in a candidate?

    We are looking for someone who shares our company’s corporate values and who are motivated to take their career to the next level.

    I think my skills might be suitable to more than one position, can I submit multiple applications?

    Yes, but you will need to submit an application for each open vacancy individually.

    Do you accept general applications?

    We do not accept unsolicited resumes. You will need to regularly check the Port Authority careers website for current vacancies.

    How will you communicate with me if I have submitted an application through a recruitment agency?

    At times we will work with specialist recruitment agencies to find the right people. If you’ve submitted an application through a recruitment agency, we will make contact with the agency directly.
