Port Authority of NSW and NSW Maritime are calling for interested community members to join the newly formed Port of Eden Stakeholder Group who will help shape Eden’s maritime future, with applications closing on Friday 28 February 2025.

Replacing the Eden Community Consultative Committee, the Eden Stakeholder Group will take a multi-agency approach to address and consult on key port priorities including the Snug Cove Maritime Precinct and cruise tourism, where local residents, business owners, and industry stakeholders can get first-hand updates and provide feedback on projects and policies impacting the Eden and surrounding far South Coast region.

NSW Maritime Executive Director Mark Hutchings said:

“This important new group reflects the success of the previous community consultative committee and demonstrates the NSW State Government’s commitment to give residents, businesses and stakeholders a meaningful role in shaping the future of their regions.

"A key focus for this group will be providing feedback on the opportunity to align the development of the cruise precinct with the Snug Cove Maritime Precinct works to benefit the entire region.”

Port Authority of NSW General Manager of Cruise Martin Bidgood said:

“Cruise and maritime is a vital driver for Eden’s economy, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and helping Eden and the entire Sapphire Coast thrive.

“The Eden Stakeholder Group will keep community at the heart of future developments, so the benefits are felt by everyone who calls Eden home.

“Eden locals have a vested interest in shaping the future of the cruise and maritime industry in the region. We encourage anyone interested in getting involved in the future of port activities in Eden to apply.”
