White Bay construction ground for Barangaroo Ferry Hub

Over the past year, White Bay has been used as a staging ground for the construction of Barangaroo Ferry Hub.

Providing access to land and deep water berths is one of many ways Port Authority of NSW enables Sydney to stage major construction projects such as Barangarro Ferry Hub.

While at White Bay more than 92 steel piles, 600 tonnes of precast concrete beams and 300 tonnes of concrete deck panels were used to build the roof and deck of the ferry hub. Today, the project reached a significant milestone when the first of two 25 x 50 metre pontoons were floated across from White Bay to Barangaroo.

Major construction of the Barangaroo Ferry Hub is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2017. For more information visit the Transport for NSW website.
