One system, one process - The OnePort project

Meet our OnePort project, Change Management Specialist Nicole Holyer. She shares with us information on the OnePort project and how this new port management system will soon become the way of the future for all our ports.

As part of Port Authority of New South Wales’s vision and strategic plan to deliver operational excellence, the exciting OnePort project welcomes its new Change Management Specialist Nicole Holyer.

With a strong background in the maritime and transport industries, Nicole most recently worked with Svitzer Australia as head of Communications and is very excited to be now working on the OnePort project.

“The OnePort is an exciting change for Port Authority,” Ms Holyer said.

“The OnePort project is the consolidation of Port Authoriity’s three port management systems to one consistent platform, servicing all port users in New South Wales – including service providers and internal operation areas.

“My role is to work with the OnePort project team, as they build the new system, to help them communicate this new system internally and externally as it’s rolled out to our stakeholders.

``The team is creating ``one system, one process across all six ports’’ while catering for individual port needs, providing a platform for inbound and outbound data sharing. It will deliver greater transparency of port operations, giving users the ability to better plan, reduce data duplication, enable improved productivity, and simplify interactions with Port Authority.

“It will also cater for future data needs across the port chain. OnePort will be designed, delivered, and managed by Port Authority of NSW, allowing us to set the standard for the next 20 years.

“We have just started talking with the maritime industry about OnePort and will be holding workshops this month to show them the system and take their feedback. The aim is to have a base system working first in Port Kembla and our southern ports,” she said

There are also several communication updates planned from Port Authority, so watch this space!
