    New Chairman appointed to Port Authority of New South Wales Board of Directors

    Port Authority of New South Wales welcomes the appointment, by the NSW Governor, of Robert Dunn, as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. The appointment is effective from Wednesday 1 August 2018.

    Mr Dunn has a long association with the Port Authority of New South Wales, having been a Director on the Board since 1 July 2014, and formerly a Director of Sydney Ports Corporation since 2012.

    Alongside these roles, Mr Dunn is the Global Executive Director with Opportunity International. He is also a director of Opportunity International Australia’s Indian subsidiary, Dia Vikas Capital. Until April 2018, Mr Dunn was also Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity International Australia, a not-for-profit organisation that provides people living in poverty with the opportunity to transform their lives through microfinance and community development programs.

    Mr Dunn is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a former Finance Director of Patrick Corporation.

    “I’m looking forward to building on and progressing the important work of the Port Authority,” said Mr Dunn. “It is an important time to remain focused on balancing the needs of our stakeholders including community, government and industry to deliver on current and future requirements.”

    Announcing the appointment, Chief Executive Officer and Director, Port Authority of New South Wales, Mr Grant Gilfillan said: “Robert is in an ideal position to take on the Chairman position, his extensive experience will continue to add value to our operations and future direction.”

    Mr Dunn’s appointment follows that of Mr Nicholas Whitlam who was Chairman of the Port Authority for two terms until 30 June 2018, having previously been Chairman of Port Kembla Port Corporation 2005 to 2013.
