Introducing the Eden Welcome Centre
As Eden becomes an increasingly popular cruise destination, a new welcome centre developed by Port Authority of New South Wales will greet up to 100,000 visiting cruise passengers each year.

The Eden Welcome Centre will be located on the existing co-op site adjacent to Eden Ice Supplies within close proximity of the recently completed cruise wharf.
Designed by award-winning architectural firm, Cox, designers of the Bermagui Fishermen’s Wharf, the Eden Welcome Centre will be will have:
- two floors with an approximate size of 1000 square metres
- a ground floor with capacity for visitors, an area for market stallholders and restroom amenities
- a first floor with office space for multi-agency staff with maritime responsibilities and other commercial uses.

Celebrating the town’s main industries of fishing, forestry and tourism, the building is intended to act as a symbol of Eden's past and its future. The structure and cladding will be made from native hardwoods from the region as a tribute to the local timber industry and will encompass features from Eden’s rich maritime and fishing industry.
The Eden Welcome Centre will be delivered in two stages. Stage one will comprise of the building construction and partial internal fit-out, anticipated to be ready for the start of the 2020/21 cruise season. Stage two will comprise full internal fit-out with tenants moving into the centre by the end of 2020.
The Eden Welcome Centre follows the recent completion of the Eden Cruise Wharf, a $44 million project to extend the port’s wharf to allow vessels over 300m in length to berth in Snug Cove for the very first time.
The project is part of the Revitalising Eden Harbour Program, a new program to coordinate the delivery of three major projects planned for the Port of Eden: the Eden Welcome Centre, the Safe Harbour Project and the Eden Harbourside Activation Project.
