Port Authority sponsors Lambton High School's Marine Studies Program

This program brought together primary and secondary students from throughout the Newcastle region to engage in a hands-on learning experience focused on the fields of marine studies, engineering, and solar technology.

As part of the program, students had the opportunity to design, construct, and race their very own mini solar-powered boats. The program culminated in an exciting Marine STEM race day, which took place at the TAFE NSW Hunter Valley EV Festival.

Port Authority was delighted to be part of the race day and engage with the next generation of marine pilots and port operators. At our stand, students had the chance to build 3D models of various maritime vessels, including cargo ships, tugboats, and pilot vessels. This interactive activity helped to further ignite students' interest in the maritime industry and allowed them to better understand the vital role of Port Authority.
