Filming at Port Authority Venues
Port Authority of NSW welcomes filming enquiries for its iconic waterfront locations, including the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) and White Bay Cruise Terminal (WBCT).
With unrivalled views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, these locations provide a stunning and versatile backdrop for film productions, commercials, and creative projects.
Filming is permitted only on non-ship days and must adhere to the Operating Environmental Management Plan for the precinct. Venue hire fees apply.
For productions exceeding 21 days, planning approval is required.
Drone Filming Approvals
Drone filming is permitted, provided that you meet the following requirements:
✔ Current Drone Operator’s Licence
✔ Public Liability Insurance ($20M minimum)
✔ CASA NOTAM approval for the specified site and time
To ensure smooth and secure operations, all filming will require at least one Port Authority Security Guard. Additional staffing, such as a venue manager or traffic controller, my be arranged as needed.
